Happy Friday eve ya’ll! Before I continue on this post, I want you all to stop and think of 3 things that you have accomplished or are grateful for this week and comment them below! Why? Because we tend to only get stuck on the unfortunate situations that occurred and all the tasks that are still on our to do list. I know personally that I tend to focus on the things I am doing wrong or need to improve on vs acknowledging how much time, effort and passion I’ve put into the things I am succeeding in. So how about we put all that negative stuff aside and be happy we are here to live, love, and crush another week!
Some things I am extremely grateful for is 1. my husband for being so patient with me. I’ve realized that helping your significant other pursue a long time passion is not easy! He is sacrificing a lot of his own time to help me and is not complaining half as much as I would! 2. I am blessed for having another huge support system – my family. They are always there for me when I need them most. I can’t even count how many times I have called for advice, or just wanting someone to listen to me ugly cry my feelings out. The craziest thing is as I’m writing all of this…I can’t help but smile. So now it’s your turn to give it a try. I promise you won’t regret it!
Fitness Routine// Fitness and just overall health is a big focus of mine. I aim to workout at least 4 or 5 times a week and usually do it on my lunch break or right after work. I have shoulder issues and had them for 4 years now, which limits a lot of the workouts I can do. If you have limitations, don’t let it stop you! I used to let it get in my way and hardly worked out. Now I learned there are always different modifications you can make to exercises and you don’t have to do the 20-30 reps. Slow down, and just listen to your body. I do weight lifting 3 times a week + HIIT training (30 seconds on sprint, 30 seconds off the treadmill, high knees, jump roping, etc). The other 1-2 days I just do some type of HIIT cardio for 30-45 minutes or take a fun fitness class like kickboxing.
What’s in my gym bag// First off, how cute is that gym bag? It’s so accurate for me because I literally crave pizza everyday! Who doesn’t….?
- BAN.DO Gym Bag – I was on the hunt for a gym bag that wasn’t so bulky, but still gave me enough room to store all of my essentials. This one was a perfect size! It has comfy straps to support your shoulders and I was pleasantly surprised with how great the quality is. It’s only $35 right now and they have different bags to choose from if you click on the link above.
- Sonia Kashuk Cosmetic Bag – I bought my cosmetic bag from Target. This isn’t the same exact one in the picture, but I wanted to post a similar style since that one sold out. I love this bag because the size is perfect to store all your makeup and the cut out handles make it convenient to carry. Also, the outside material is easy to clean + It’s only $14.99!
- Tangle Teezer Thick & Curly Detangling Brush – This hands down is the best brush I have ever owned. If you have thick/coarse hair like me, then this detangling hairbrush is a must have. It takes out all of your knots and doesn’t pull or tug too hard at your hair like normal brushes. I bought mine from Sephora and it’s $12. They have the original Tangle Teezer brush too, incase you don’t have curly/thick hair and are just looking for a good detangling brush.
- Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Setting Spray – This setting spray is a miracle. I usually have to keep my makeup on throughout the work day for 10+ hours and this spray does the trick. It doesn’t give you the sticky feeling and once it dries, you can’t even feel it. I purchased the smaller size (1 oz) to store in my bag and to have it for when I travel. The regular size (4 oz) is here.
- Scunci No Damage Soft Hosiery Elastics – 3pk – I have posted these hair ties on here before only because I love them that much! It took me forever to find a hair tie that I could use while sleeping or working out that wouldn’t dent my hair. And since I have a lot of hair it was definitely hard to find. These elastic hair bands are designed with hosiery material for extra stretch and they are SO soft and comfortable. I bought these at Target and they were only $3.99.
- Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes – These are my favorite cleansing wipes. They remove even the toughest water-proof makeup and they come in small travel size packs to easily fit in your purse.
- Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer – I have continued to buy this concealer now for the past year. I love how lightweight it feels on your skin. It does a great job covering up uneven texture and under-eye shadows. I use the “light” shade. This is from Sephora and is $20.
- Batiste Dry Shampoo – Recently started using this dry shampoo and I’m obsessed. It soaks up all the oil without leaving any type of white residue. Not to mention it’s very affordable ($6).
- Adidas Sneakers – I purchased these from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and it’s one of my favorites. They are comfortable and can be worn to workout or run errands. They are still on sale for $68.

Three things I’m grateful for. That I get to lead such an adventurous life with the one I love. That I have 3 wonderful children and a wonderful daughter in law!
And that I have my health (at least so far)!
