I am so excited to be able to share my baby shower brunch with you all! I can’t believe how loved Baby Landon is already and I am so blessed to have an amazing group of friends and family that were able to make it. I’ll be sharing all my shower details and decor below for inspiration to help anyone planning a future shower, whether it’s for yourself or for a friend/family member!
My cousin hosted the shower for me, but it was planned by the both of us. We looked at various venues and restaurants to host it at, but the minimum costs were extremely expensive. We decided that due to the amount of people that were able to attend, the location and to save money, we had the shower at my house which ended up being perfect!
We bought these printable invitations to send out. All we had to do was download the file, edit the text, and then printed them at a local copy store. Instead of cards, we asked for our guests to bring a baby book and to sign it. This was a great way to build our library and it was so nice to read everyone’s sweet messages! The printable invitations came with a template to print out inserts for the “Books for baby” and it also came with a “Diaper Raffle” insert template and Thank You Cards.
Theme/Schedule
The theme for my baby shower was, “Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star”. We decided to stick with different hues of blue and gold accents throughout the house. When planning the baby shower, we planned a strict timeline because we knew we wanted the shower to be 3 hours but have enough going on so people would have a good time. We tried our best to stick to this timeline but did end up going a little over!
You can see a sample timeline of the schedule below:
- 11:30am-12:00pm – Guests arrived, greeted and mingled with everyone
- 12:00pm-12:45pm – Brunch, made my way to mingle with all the guests
- 12:45pm-1:45pm – Played 3 different shower games
- 1:45pm-2:15pm – Opened Presents
- 2:15pm-2:30pm – Goodbyes
Games
We played three different games that lasted about 45 minutes to an hour. One game was meant to be started in the beginning and last to the end of the shower. The winners of these games were given a Starbucks Gift Card!
- Price Is Right – For this game everyone had to guess the prices of certain baby items and whoever had the closest total without going over would be the winner. We looked up the prices and totaled them a head of time.
- Baby Emoji Pictionary – This game was so much fun! I loved seeing how creative people would get! I won’t lie, a lot of these were super hard on purpose but some of the guesses were hilarious to hear! This one game came in a pack of other games and it did have an answer key!
- What’s In Your Purse? – For this game, everyone had to go through their purses to see if they had the items on the list. Every item had a certain point total and whoever had the most points at the end won!
- Who’s Watching Baby? This 4th game was located on the Main Table and was a game that would be played throughout the shower. When guests arrived they had to choose a small, plastic baby to keep with them all shower long. They were not able to put the plastic babies in their purse or pockets. The goal of the game was to snatch any babies that were “unattended”. The one with the most babies at the end would win!
- I also did a diaper raffle and the winner was announced at the end of the shower. This was a great way to get diapers because we all know you go through so many!
Main Table Decor
For the main table, I used curtains, string lights, and a themed banner to make the backdrop stand out. On the table, I put:
- Desserts (donuts and cookies)
- Oh Baby Block Guestbook – Each guest had to sign a block
- Glitter Gold Letter “L” Sign
- Who’s Watching Baby Game
MamaMosa Bar
Since I did a brunch I thought mimosas would be the best drink of choice to serve. I picked three different juices (orange, mango, peach) and bought some fruit to be able to mix in. You can shop all the items I used for the “MamaMosa” bar below.
Photo Backdrop
The photo backdrop wall was hung over our office door using metallic tassel curtains, balloons, and an “oh baby” sign. The balloon arch was made by using this tape. All you have to do is stick the helium or air filled latex balloons through the holes along the strip and you can configure the shape anyway you want!
I hope you found this useful to plan your baby shower! As always please reach out if you have any questions. Next up: Baby Landon’s arrival!
