Now that I am well into my second trimester, I wanted to share with you all the must have products I found super helpful during this time. All of these products can be used throughout your pregnancy and some post baby too!
PREGNANCY PILLOW
This pillow has been a huge help for the nights I’ve been tossing and turning due to being uncomfortable through pregnancy (hello heartburn and gastric reflux!). I love that I can use this to prop myself up while watching tv or reading in bed. The cover is removable, holds up well in the wash and is easy to put back on.
BELLA BAND
This band is great to use if you want to continue to wear your pre-pregnancy jeans.
NURSING BRAS
I was looking for a bra that was comfortable with no underwire to wear throughout the second and third trimesters. This one can be used before baby and then used for nursing once the baby arrives. It has nursing clips that are easy to remove with one hand and removable foam cups that you can take in and out. It also has held up after multiple washes!
BURTS BEES BELLY BUTTER
I have been using this lotion to help prevent any stretch marks and so far I’m pleased with it. I have extremely sensitive skin so I like how it’s fragrance free and formulated without phthalates, parabens, and petrolatum. I tried using the Palmers Cocoa Butter Lotion before this and my skin didn’t agree with it so that’s what made me switch. Everyone’s body/skin is different during this time, so wanted to share what has worked for me!
DISTRESSED DENIM MATERNITY JEANS
I have been wearing these jeans since my first trimester and love them. They have the side panel bands vs over the belly which I liked so I can still tuck in my shirts. People can’t even tell that they are maternity jeans!
SLIPPERS
These fleece slippers are a must, pregnant or not! They have memory foam padding which makes them super comfy and helps give support.
STRIPED COZY NIGHTGOWN
During the second trimester all of my pajamas started to get tighter and tighter as the weeks went on, so it was time for me to look for new ones. I found the most comfy type of sleepwear for me was this nightgown. I loved how it has a looser silhouette and the material is breezy enough to wear to sleep. For me, loose fitting sleepwear worked best vs having any type of elastic around my stomach/waist.
BLACK MATERNITY JEGGINGS
These jeggings are SO comfortable that I wish I found them sooner. They have a band that goes over the belly, but the nice part is that it stays in place! I am using these as my “work” pants since it’s a soft ponte knit fabric.
ACTIVE CAPRIS
I have used these capris for all of my workouts/walks. I love how stretchy the fabric is and it it has a moisture-wicking material that is super important during these hot summer months. The panel can be worn over the belly or can be folded down so you can wear them after pregnancy too!
LEMONADE FLAVORED TUMS
I usually hate how Tums tastes but just deal with it since it helps combat my heartburn. I came across this limited edition lemonade flavor and it’s surprisingly not that bad!
HYDROFLASK
It’s so important to stay hydrated during pregnancy! I have always been the girl to drink tons of water even before pregnancy, but what I’ve found most helpful was to have a big water bottle that I can easily refill throughout the day.
UNDERWEAR
I found this pack of underwear on Amazon and I love them! The best part is that they have a low waist design that fits perfectly under the bump! Its made with cotton which makes them so comfy! I would buy a size up since they run a little small in my opinion.
LEIGH RUCHED BODY-CON DRESS
I have this body-con dress in 4 colors and I’m obsessed! I wore this before pregnancy because I loved how flattering it was with the ruched detailing. So if you’re wanting a casual dress during pregnancy that you can wear to work with a cardigan or out on the weekend, then I highly recommend this one, especially since you can wear it again after baby! This body-con is a more budget friendly option that looks identical to the one from Nordstrom and comes in multiple colors/styles.
GOMACRO PROTEIN BARS
These are my new favorite protein bars for snacks during the day. These bars are made with healthy organic ingredients and uses brown rice protein vs whey.
APPS I’VE BEEN USING:
- Babylist – to create our baby registry. We decided on Babylist for our registry because you can add products from all different retailers onto one list vs having multiple registries at different places. It also has a feature where it tells you the prices of the products you select for your registry at different retailers so you can get the most affordable price!
- The Bump, Ovia Pregnancy, and What to Expect – for weekly baby updates. They give detailed summaries for each week of how the baby is growing, changes happening to your body & why, and common symptoms to expect.
- Baby Story – I use this app to edit my “bumpie” photos and add fun graphics to them (i.e. # of weeks, size of baby, etc.)
PREGNANCY JOURNAL:
This pregnancy journal has been the best for keeping track of all the important moments and milestones throughout my pregnancy so far. I love how minimal it is (not 1000+ pages to fill out), the space provided to paste photos, and it even has an envelope in the back to hold your sonogram pictures!
PRENATAL VITAMINS:
These prenatal vitamins are my favorite and what I have been using since I found out I was pregnant. It was important for me to find an organic vitamin that I could use without giving me any type of side affects. Before pregnancy, I used Garden of Life products like their protein powder and loved it, so I thought I would give the brands vitamins a try. I haven’t felt any type of side affects from them and I love that they are available in multiple stores/have different sizes available. I usually get the 90 day supply so I don’t have to worry about constantly restocking them.
