For our Babymoon trip we decided to get out of rainy Florida and head to Scottsdale, AZ for some sun and mountain views. We stayed at the Omni Resort and Spa At Montelucia and I am so happy we did! The resort was absolutely stunning with its’ Spanish inspired decor and was surrounded with mountain views at every angle.
Mountain View Room
The Spanish inspired rooms were extremely spacious with a King-sized bed and balcony overlooking the mountains. The sliding doors to the balcony brought in a lot of light that brightened up the room. The bathroom had a walk-in shower and bathtub, with plenty of space to get ready in. They even had a smart TV inside the room that came with HBO, Netflix, etc. which was perfect for us to be able to wind down the night with our favorite shows!
Dining
There are multiple options for dining at the resort which makes it easy to not have to leave. We mainly ate at Prado and Crave for Breakfast/Lunch and went out to explore Old Town for Dinner most nights. You can tell the chefs at the resort put a lot of time into the food because everything was delicious and the food presentations were perfect. Prado offered dishes that provided the flavors of Spain so you can count on them being flavorful and filling. Crave was a smaller food market that offered quick bites (bagels, pastries, empanadas), craft coffees, and gelato.
Other spots to eat on property:
- MBAR: Has a selection of Spanish style food with wood-fired tapas, sangrias, and gin & tonics.
- TAQUERIA CENTRO: Mexican inspired food with ingredients that are supplied by farms across Arizona. They also had craft cocktails and Arizona micro-brews.
- POOLSIDE DINING: My favorite part was that they offered poolside dining where you can enjoy lunch and cold cocktails while lounging at one of their three pools.
Pools
There are 2 main pools with hot tubs and another private pool that you can use if you book a Joya Spa service. Both pools were spacious and enabled you to sip on a refreshing drink all while staring into the mountains. The pool service was fast and all the employees were extremely nice! They even helped move the umbrellas multiple times to ensure I was in a shaded area.
Joya Spa
On our last couple days at the resort, we went to the Joya Spa to experience two days of pampering. From the moment we walked in to the room, the view of the gorgeous winding grand staircase and calming smells brought a sense of immediate comfort and tranquility.
When we arrived, we were greeted by a Joya Journey Coordinator who took us on a tour of the spa. The first stop was the Joy of Intention room. Here she asked us to choose from five healing stones that would set our tone and intention for the day. I loved that you were given an opportunity to have a positive mindset before you walked in.
Next, we made our way to the Joy of Purification room. When we walked into the space, we immediately saw a 55 lb quartz crystal that radiated light in multiple colors, sitting on-top of a small table. We were asked by the coordinator to place both hands on the crystal while taking a couple big, deep breaths. This was said to help release any negative energy or tension before entering the spa. Another unique and stunning detail to this room was the ceiling, that was lit up by tiny lights that represented stars. These were the same number of stars in a city in Spain from the night the resort opened.
Overall, I can’t say enough how amazing this trip was! The stay at this resort was the perfect Babymoon in our opinion and we will definitely be coming back for family vacations!
